General 40k Shinanigans

Damn near done!!!

So, my last post for the skull cannon before it is done!  The base is done as are most of the details.  Just a quick post with some half-hearted pics, but it may be all the progress I make this weekend so I figured I’d get a post up just in case!

  1. It’s really looking great. I think you just need some better lighting in the shots. In that 3rd shot I can see the yellows pretty well on the base but in the rest it’s more burnt orange.

How do you find this guy in the game? I’ve really been considering picking one up. Used a few with Khorne Daemonkin by summoning them in (used proxies), and had pretty good luck with them.

  2. Yeah, he is lit by the kitchen light and a flash. It is fairly bright. I really like the model thus far. It was cool to field it because it (and my other Khorne Chariot) received “oohs” and “ahs”. Yeah, I may not win a lot of games, but damnit it feels nice to have a great painted army. 😀

On that note, my Khorne cannon is a great multi-purpose tool. S8 and ignores cover makes it pretty effective at flushing most things out of cover like guard and small squads. The high strength makes it pretty good at cracking vehicles, especially paired with a high BS so it very rarely misses vehicles altogether. However, with the way hammer of wrath rules are, it works pretty well at bringing down even big things if paired with another threat (ie- another chariot). You hammer of wraith against facing side. Yeah, if you slam into the back of a dread with these (armor 10) and you get D6 S7 hits you are probably gonna strip off 2 or 3 hullpoints. Overall, a better buy then a helbrute.
